Climbing and Bouldering at the Pinnacle Centre
If you are an experienced climber, you may be looking for facilities to enjoy climbing regularly without any fuss. Here at The Pinnacle, we offer a monthly membership. As a Climb Unlimited member, you will receive access to the main climbing walls, Speed Climbing Wall, bouldering room, and training area at any time, for as little or as long as you like! We also have 7 auto belays, so you can come and climb without a partner.
Dedicated Bouldering Room
- 10 different angle walls
- 45o Overhang, 30o Overhang
- Slabs to 6.5m Overhanging roof
- 70 colour coded problems
- Grades from VB to V8
- 50% reset every 3 weeks

- 52 Lead Lines in main climbing area

- Up to 12.5m tall
- 6.5m Overhanging Competition Wall
- Grades from F2 to F8a+
- Slabs, vertical and overhanging
- Huge variety of angles, aretes and volumes
- Regular Resetting – always something new
- Great range of modern climbing holds

Top Roping
- Around 35 top ropes in the main climbing area
- Another 14 lines upstairs
- Around 150 different routes
- Up to 12.5m tall

- Regular Resetting, always something new
- Great range of modern climbing holds

Speed Wall
Speed climbing is one form of indoor rock climbing where athletes compete for the fastest time to the top of the climbing wall. We generally only recommend this type of climb for highly skilled and experienced climbers.
The competition for speed climbing takes places on a standardised climbing wall. There are athletes that train specifically for these events and for international speed climbing competitions.
Auto Belays

- Lets you climb safely without a partner
- Included in your Standard wall entry
- 5 on various angles with a huge range of grades
- 2 dedicated speed units on our international spec speed wall
- Around 25 routes climbable on our Auto belays
- Suitable for ages 3 and up
- A nice gentle descent from the top or when you fall
- Instruction available if you have not used them before
- Socially distant full height climbing
Crack Climbing
- Amazing and challenging crack climb
- Can be lead or top roped
- Added with the Speed wall in 2020
- Be Warned – it’s a biter……
- Only one lead ascent during Dec 2020
- Tame the beast on lead and ask us for a FREE Pizza, you deserve it
- Its a wondering textured plywood crack, varying from 7cm wide to a 2cm finger jam crux near the top
- Finger tape and advice available at reception
- Ocun crack gloves available to hire

If any of these apply to you, or you just like to take it easy and enjoy your time on the wall, we have great easy routes for you.
- Irn Bru holds, every single one is a jug, and they are ALWAYS the easiest way to get up any given line
- Also refered to as the Minions for kids, they are Blue and Orange
- On every possible angle around the centre on Top Ropes, Lead and Bouldering
- They make great bouldering descents from harder routes too
