October Half Term in Northampton: Ideas for Keeping Kids Busy

By October half term the weather has turned and it is dark by six, so a week of parks and playgrounds is not much of a plan. Here are indoor options in Northampton that will keep children busy whatever the weather.

Half Term Kids Camps at The Pinnacle

Our 4 Hour Multi-Activity Kids Camps run every day of half term, from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, 10am to 2pm, at The Pinnacle Climbing Centre in Far Cotton.

Children climb, abseil, explore our indoor cave system and play games, all led by qualified instructors with every piece of equipment provided. Four hours covers a good part of the day, which is why working parents book them.

Camps are open to all abilities, ages 6 to 16, and no experience is needed. Each day costs £38, and you can book as many or as few days as you need.

Clip 'n Climb for younger children

If you have younger children, or a group with a wide age range, Clip 'n Climb at Weston Favell Shopping Centre has 32 different climbing challenges suitable from age 2 upwards. The auto belay system means no experience and no climbing partner is needed.

It is inside the shopping centre, which is handy if you want to combine it with the rest of a rainy afternoon.

Family bouldering

The Bouldering Centre at Weston Favell has themed kids climbing rooms and a dedicated beginners area, and families can climb together after a family induction. Children can boulder from age 4 once the family has been signed off.

Halloween Social Night

Half term ends with our Halloween Social Night at the Climbing Centre on Wednesday 28 October, 4pm to 10pm, with decorations, free pizza and a best dressed competition. See what's on.
