Get active at The Pinnacle
If your family likes a challenge, try climbing at The Pinnacle. Between our Climbing Centre in Far Cotton and our Bouldering Centre at Weston Favell, there's something for every age and ability. Children aged 4 and over can use the bouldering rooms after a quick family induction, and older children and adults can also try roped climbing and auto belays. The holidays are a quieter time to visit, which suits first-timers. New to climbing? A Taster Session with one of our instructors is a good introduction, and it's all indoors, so the weather doesn't matter.
Get outdoors in the parks
Northampton has some lovely green spaces for a picnic and a run around. Abington Park is a local favourite with its lake, aviary and room for games, while the grounds at Delapré Abbey are good for a relaxed stroll. A little further out, Salcey Forest and its treetop walkway are worth the short drive.
